Private Residence – Mequon,
WI: The long irregular shape of the property was turned
into an asset by developing a sequence of diverse
spaces. A meandering entry drive serves as a path
linking these spaces in the landscape. The upper,
east end of the property includes a guest cottage
garden, apple orchard, grand lawn, sport court, and
formal perennial garden. The main house sits to the
west atop a bluff with dramatic views of Lake Michigan.
Here, the landscape includes terraces of sandstone
edged by granite walls and gardens that transition
beautifully over the topography. Other features include
a swimming pool, outdoor fireplace, and formal lawn.
Landscape Design / Water Feature
Private Residence – Milwaukee, WI: Opposing
themes of movement and stillness guided the design
of two courtyard gardens at this residence. An atrium
forms the central volume of the home with physical
access available to two new south and west courtyards.
Plants, stones and water were incorporated into the
atrium and courtyards to form a seamless connection
between indoor and outdoor space. The south courtyard
was designed for social activity and entertaining
while the west courtyard was designed for quiet privacy.
Color was utilized subtly in plant selection so various
shades and textures of foliage and branch could create
seasonal interest and a sense of serenity.
Landscape Design / Hardscape
Private Residence – Delafield, WI: The goal
of this first phase to the project was to provide
a formal outdoor space for entertaining and seating
and connecting the home to the outside. The formal
pergola rests on stained and stamped concrete patio
offering shade and a sense of framing the outdoor
space. Phase II (currently underway) will be the addition
of formal boxwoods, upright evergreens and other plant
material for color and a fountain for added atmosphere.
Residential Home Architectural
Design
Private Residence – Merton, WI: In this project
the client wanted a custom to reflect their personality
and compliment their lifestyle. This 4,500 sq. ft.
custom 4 bedroom 4 ½ bath home features stone
and brick exterior, large open two story great room,
foyer space and covered portico entry, along with
a wonderful main floor master. There is also a large
back covered outdoor living area with a two story
roof for outdoor entertaining.
Master Planning / Landscape
Design
LashBrook Private Riverfront Community: The Lashbrook
property deserved a special attention and land planning
along with landscape design due to the development’s
size and location making optimum use of the 180+ acre
site which has 116 residential lots. It was essential
to maximize use of topography and natural beauty of
the site. Incorporated into the master plan is a community
room with fitness facilities, a pool and poolside
open air gazebo with an outdoor fireplace, tennis
courts, basketball court, a playground and a community
marina.
